You’ve researched your niche, carefully selected your products, and advertised them on the Internet. A few customers have placed orders, and your search engine rankings are improving, bringing new visitors every day. You’ve got all the basic small business website design principles in place. Yet you’d like to take it to the next level, to make amazing profits with your online business. So what are you missing?

Well, we offer more to those who ask for more.

My customers, like you, appreciate what is familiar and comforting. Everyone does it. You see a new book from your favorite author, a new CD by your favorite singer, a new movie starring your favorite actor, and you can’t wait to experience it.

You wanted more and they offered it. Now, you must do the same thing. Because it is 10 times easier to sell a product or service to someone who has already bought from you. They already know you. They already trust you. And hopefully, they even LIKE you! People buy from those they know, like and trust.

So, what does all this have to do with offering more to those who want more? This is where capturing the emails of those who visit your web site comes in. They already bought from you, they want more of what you have to offer (because you have done the research and know EXACTLY what they want)…but after they leave your web site, what are the chances they will ever come back? The chances are less than 1%…even if they book mark your site or put you in their favorites!

This is why you must do two things - constantly look for new products they would like and constantly keep in contact with them. What would you say if I had you over for a visit and then never spoke to you again? You would think I was rude! But if you never contact those who visit your web site, are you not doing the same thing?

And the only way to contact them is to request their first name and an email in exchange for a free report, a downloadable mp3 or even a mini-course! :-)

Huge companies harness the power of the Internet to make amazing profits with their online business. That technology is available to you, too. Use your e-mail lists to advertise new products, great deals, and more. Your customers will love to hear from you, and your online business will thrive.

But here is another principle to keep in mind. You can sell $27 ebooks all day long and eventually you will become a millionaire. Imagine how much quicker that will be if you sell $97 ebooks with audio and video. Then $447 home study courses. And finally $5500 bootcamps and workshops! Maybe a cruise to the Bahamas with me as we create your online business!

You see, the trick is to offer more to those who want more. Who want more attention, who want the faster track or who want the inside information to get up and running very quickly. And as long as you offer quality information or products, both you and your customer will be very happy people!

What Can I Sell Online?

Today, I am making CDs in my home office. Over the past two days, I made over 100 CDs and cases for this Montana book show. And I’ve only just begun. There is a great demand for my CDs on low-budget Internet marketing for small business.

My CDs and video tutorials cover many topics - parenting, making Biblical decisions in modern times, the Biblical view of debt, and more. One of my most popular CDs, entitled Small Businesses That Kids Can Start, teaches kids practical entrepreneurial skills. Other CDs teach customers how to turn a recording into a product, and how to make a profit on eBay.

Additionally, home remodeling audios are in the works - as a contractor with 20 years experience, my specialized knowledge still comes in handy! How about you? Do you have specialized knowledge, information you could use to create your own business? Each and every month, I create new products, which are sold online. Recently, I was told, “You don’t really do this yourself. You make money by telling other people how to make money. That’s crazy!”

Low-budget Internet marketing idea for small business, priceless. When you add it up, it’s not much of a capital outlay. Creating CDs is quite inexpensive; creating an e-book is even cheaper. You don’t need lots of money to create an interview, a “how to” audio or video, or any book. Think about your area of expertise, and look for ways to develop that niche.

Quit Doing Everything Yourself!

Before I started my own online business, I was in the construction industry for 20 years. You may not realize how close I came to failure. After five years of struggling in construction, I came very close to closing my business.

When you first start a construction company, you need clients. I found plenty of work, mostly small jobs lasting only two to three days. These smaller jobs paid the bills, but I was running myself ragged. Larger jobs were more profitable, allowing me to stay in one place for longer (which beat setting up my equipment in a new place every day).

Finally, I started landing larger jobs and pretty soon, I had all the work that I and a helper could handle. Large jobs, small jobs and everything in between. Then, it began to dawn on me that I had maxed out. I could not physically do anymore work in a week than I was doing at the time. I could not take on any more work because there was only one of me (and a helper) to do the work.

I had another revelation

I had also reached my limit, money wise. My earnings had plateaued. Since we could not physically produce more, we could not earn more. I was frustrated. I enjoyed owning my own business, but I also knew I could work less and earn more by working as a building superintendent in Houston. Imagine - free medical insurance, free dental insurance, a retirement plan, and more.

Being self-employed, I had none of these benefits. It was time to make a decision - keep working 70 hours a week, with no benefits, or make a change. I decided it was time to change.

I found a course offered by the Home Builders Association in San Antonia. This three-day seminar was full of fascinating information and interesting people. A fellow participant, Don Boozer, offered some great advice. He suggested I move into general contracting. Of course, I’d need to delegate, to share the responsibilities.

“If I don’t do the work, I will need to call others to do the work for me. Why would anyone pay me just to make phone calls?”, I asked.

“Ah, but they will pay you. And they’ll pay you well,” Don insisted. Much to my surprise, he was right.

I took a chance and followed his advice. Over the next year, my income doubled. The job in Houston wasn’t looking so attractive anymore. In the next year, my income doubled again. And my income has remained at least six figures every year, ever since.

Why do I tell you that story?

Because, the only way to increase your income fast is to increase your business awareness fast. And the fastest way to do that is to start an ez web business or attend a conference that is specific to your industry. If you want to make money online, then go to a conference that is SPECIFIC to making money online and there you can map out a business plan for an online business!
